Sr Huan Cheng Kee has more than 40 years of professional experience in the property valuation profession as well as estate agency and property management in Malaysia. He started work in 1980 as a Valuation Officer in the Valuation and Property Services Department (VPSD), Ministry of Finance Malaysia and served in various states as District Valuer, Deputy State Director and State Director. He retired as the Assistant Director General (Technical) of the VPSD in 2016. As the Assistant Director General, he was overall in charge of the various technical divisions of the VPSD.
He was a Board member of the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers, Malaysia from 2008 to 2016 and currently still serve as a member in the Valuation Practice Committee and the Property Management Committee as well as a panel interviewer for the Test of Professional Competence.
He is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Surveyors, a registered valuer, estate agent and property manager with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers, Malaysia and is also a founder member of the Business Valuation Association of Malaysia.
He was a member of the Asean Valuers Association, a member of the Focus Group On Registering Property – PEMUDAH, a member of the Special Compensation Committee MRT, a consultant to the the Saudi Authority for Accredited Valuers (TAQEEM) and was also a consultant to the Directorate General of State Asset Management, Directorate of Valuation, Ministry of Finance, Indonesia
He has given many lectures and talks in various subjects particularly in compensation, property valuation and taxation and the property market. He was also involved in the various amendments of the Land Acquisition Act, 1960 and the various property and taxation statutes.
Prior to joining Jaz International Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., he was providing valuation and property consultancy services focusing on compensation and other statutory valuations and also served as an advisor on real estate matters to several public companies and valuation consultancy firms.
